Toyota SupraA70

The third-generation Supra is the original wheels curated contribution platform, covering the A70 chassis.

Know this generation.

Start with the body and market, not simply “Mk3 Supra.” Toyota’s own history records narrow-body Japanese A70 models and the later introduction of blister-fender wide bodies there. An imported GA70, MA70 or JZA70 therefore needs its actual body configuration identified before an overseas car becomes a useful visual reference.

The A70 is the current wheels curated contribution platform. Its comparison tool uses one explicitly identified 1991 U.S. Turbo factory reference, not a universal A70 specification. Compare front and rear independently, and keep demonstration records separate from contributor-owned cars. A spacer changes the effective offset even when the wheel’s stamped offset is unchanged.

Before you choose wheels.

A good-looking setup is only useful if the details match your car. Start with these generation-specific checks.

  1. Identify factory narrow or wide body, plus any rolled lips, pulled arches or overfenders. Do not infer body width from the engine badge.
  2. For the double-wishbone chassis, document the actual springs or coilovers, ride height and alignment before comparing clearance through suspension travel.
  3. Read nominal offset and spacer thickness together on each axle; also identify any big-brake conversion before using a factory-wheel comparison.

Record the complete setup.

Track front and rear separately, even on a square setup. Wheel diameter and width alone cannot establish clearance.

Wheels
Exact brand and model, diameter × width, nominal offset, bolt pattern and hub bore.
Spacers
Explicit front and rear thickness in millimeters. Enter zero only after confirming there are no spacers.
Tires
Brand, model and full size on each axle. Nominal sizes do not guarantee the same measured section width.
The car
Market, model year, trim, body style, brake package, suspension, alignment and any fender modifications.
Real-world result
Rubbing at steering lock, under compression and with passengers or cargo. Include conditions, not just “fits.”
Effective offset = wheel offset − spacer thickness

A spacer moves the wheel outward, but an offset calculation does not prove brake, tire, suspension or body clearance.

Reference notes

These references describe particular vehicles and wheel designs. Their examples are not blanket fitment recommendations.

Year ranges are generation guides, not VIN decoders. Market introductions and model years can differ.
