Subaru WRXVB

The VB is the 2022-onward WRX generation. Compare its exact brake and suspension package rather than treating it as a continuation of the VA STI.

Know this generation.

VB is a WRX page, not a VB STI page. Brake equipment still matters within this generation: Brembo identifies the 2025 WRX tS with six-piston front and two-piston rear calipers. A wheel shown on another VB therefore needs a brake-package match before its clearance can be assumed.

Separate the desired wheel position from the tire choice. Apex’s VB guide shows how a single wheel specification can lead to different camber and fender requirements as the tire becomes wider. Its product-specific examples are useful comparison references, not blanket approval for a different wheel brand, tire or lowered car.

Before you choose wheels.

A good-looking setup is only useful if the details match your car. Start with these generation-specific checks.

  1. Record the exact trim and brakes, particularly tS or other upgraded hardware, before relying on another VB owner’s caliper-clearance result.
  2. Check tire contact through suspension compression, including the actual arch treatment, rather than judging only the visible plastic flare.
  3. Retain tire model and camber with the wheel dimensions; the wider alternatives in the cited guide carry additional clearance qualifications.

Record the complete setup.

Track front and rear separately, even on a square setup. Wheel diameter and width alone cannot establish clearance.

Wheels
Exact brand and model, diameter × width, nominal offset, bolt pattern and hub bore.
Spacers
Explicit front and rear thickness in millimeters. Enter zero only after confirming there are no spacers.
Tires
Brand, model and full size on each axle. Nominal sizes do not guarantee the same measured section width.
The car
Market, model year, trim, body style, brake package, suspension, alignment and any fender modifications.
Real-world result
Rubbing at steering lock, under compression and with passengers or cargo. Include conditions, not just “fits.”
Effective offset = wheel offset − spacer thickness

A spacer moves the wheel outward, but an offset calculation does not prove brake, tire, suspension or body clearance.

Reference notes

These references describe particular vehicles and wheel designs. Their examples are not blanket fitment recommendations.

Year ranges are generation guides, not VIN decoders. Market introductions and model years can differ.
